Are you passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their full potential in the workforce? Ambitious College is seeking a dedicated Lecturer to join our team and deliver an impactful Supported Internship curriculum.
Ambitious College offer supported internships for young people who want to work in competitive employment. The unpaid supported internships form part of the intern's education and equip autistic young people with the skills needed for adulthood and employment.
The programme takes place between Chessington World of Adventures, and a classroom based at Chessington School. Learners are totally immersed in the workplace, learning through continuous feedback, and gaining real employability and competitive work skills.
You will be the daily point of contact for all key stakeholders and provide operational oversight for the smooth and successful running of the internship project
As a Lecturer for Supported Internships, you will play a vital role in supporting learners to transition into paid employment. Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality teaching, providing course leadership, and facilitating a supportive learning environment at our supported internship host site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver a dynamic Supported Internship curriculum tailored to the needs of our learners.
- Provide engaging teaching sessions that promote skill development and independence in the workplace.
- Offer individualized support and guidance to learners, fostering their personal and professional growth.
- Collaborate with host employer (Chessington World of Adventures) to create meaningful internship opportunities and facilitate successful work placements.
- Lead and inspire a team of two Job Coaches, ensuring a cohesive approach to delivering the curriculum.
- Monitor learner progress, assess performance, and provide constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement.

Ambitious College is a specialist day college for autistic young people aged 16 –25.
The college has two campuses co-located within mainstream colleges in north and west London. These are Ambitious College Pears Campus at Capital City College Tottenham and the Pears Campus at West Thames College in Isleworth.
At each campus, there is a team of dedicated and passionate professionals including teachers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, employment specialists, behaviour specialists and specialist support staff. Using the Ambitious Approach to education, they work together to come up with learning and support approaches tailored to the individual.
Through a range of partnerships with local businesses, community groups and mainstream partners, the college also offer opportunities to learn in the community. This combined approach – personalised education, positive support and real work experience – delivers results. It allows young people to achieve their goals, fulfil their potential and go on to lead active lives in their community.
