The Role:                            

New City College has an award-winning, organisational strategic priority to deliver highly effective sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives. In this crucial role, you will champion this commitment, working with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement plans and achieve our objectives. Monitoring and reporting are as important as leading and advising senior managers, motivating students to get involved, and representing the college externally. 

Who you are:

You are a passionate and dedicated professional with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability within the further education sector. You have relevant knowledge and experience in delivering effective sustainability initiatives, coupled with a positive, flexible, and can-do attitude. You are comfortable managing projects like air-source heat pump installations, creating biodiversity gardens with students, and delivering carbon reduction reports to funders. You are driven and work with focus and accountability. You are a team player and natural leader/influencer. Your achievements and contributions will be recognized and appreciated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and advise on effective and successful delivery of New City College’s strategic priority to deliver sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives.  
  • Effectively monitor and report on emissions and progress.
  • Champion the college’s commitment to sustainability, working with colleagues and partners to develop and achieve our objectives.  
  • Lead on internal and external awareness of the college’s work in the area of sustainability and carbon reduction.
  • Inspire, inform, lead and motivate the college community and wider stakeholders.
