Job overview
The Physical Education department is looking to recruit an experienced swimming coach to run our KEHS swimming squads and Lifesaving Club. Currently, the KEHS swim club and Lifesaving sessions run at lunchtimes and after school. The swimming teams compete in such events as the Warwick 50s and the Bromsgrove relays, as well as the ESSA events. The Lifesaving club has over 50 members across the school and they compete in Rookie competitions as well as work towards their lifesaving and personal survival qualifications.
Outside of the extracurricular sessions, the successful participant would be expected to support weaker swimmers in the curriculum lessons, with the aim being that all pupils at KEHS are confident swimmers by the time they leave. There is also scope for the position to support our sports outreach programme. This involves supporting local primary schools to deliver their swimming programme using our facilities.
Salary and hours:
The Swimming Teacher and Lifesaving Instructor will be required to work around 15-20 hours per week, which includes lessons and extra-curricular activities at lunchtimes and after school. The hourly rate will be up to £20 depending on experience.
How to apply:
To apply for this role, forward a completed application form (available for download at: www.kehs.org.uk/useful-information/vacancies) and a covering letter addressed to the Principal, outlining why you feel that your skills and experience would equip you to take on this role, by email to: recruitment@kes.org.uk.
Interviews will take place when sufficient applications have been received.
