Job overview

Oakfield First School is excited to be re-opening its outdoor swimming pool to its pupils and the wider community. We are looking initially for someone to deliver small group swimming lessons to children in Foundation to year 4, with a view to expanding this to other local schools and community groups. There is therefore the opportunity for additional overtime for the successful candidate.


Working hours will be 9am-3pm Monday-Thursday (although there is flexibility around working days).


What the role involves:

·        To work with all level of swimmers

·        To coach in an exciting way so as to nurture a love of swimming for everyone who uses the pool

·        To build good working relationships with staff members and parent volunteers

·        To contribute to maintaining a culture of effective safeguarding


Who we are looking for:

·        Swimming teacher qualification – level 2 or higher

·        A team player

·        A desire to coach children

·        The ability to use a range of techniques to maximise pupil progress across a range of abilities

·        A sense of fun
