The school wishes to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and talented teaching assistant to work in and out of class with an individual KS1 pupil with identified needs and an Education, Health Care Plan.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a school setting with pupils with Special Educational Needs (social / emotional / learning). They will be a strong communicator who is a nurturing, patient and positive individual. They will be strong at building relationships with pupils, staff and parents. Knowledge and experience of Autism is of an advantage, alongside strong behaviour management strategies.
Strong literacy and mathematics skills are essential and successful completion of tests in these areas is part of the interview process.
A very strong commitment to raising aspiration and attainment in an urban setting is essential. Hours of work will be 8.45am – 12.45am then 1.25pm -3.25pm daily (30 hours per week)
This position is subject to 2 professional references and DBS clearance.
