Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational Second in Charge of Science to join a well-established, committed and successful department. This post is suitable for an experienced teacher of science who is an excellent teacher. We are looking for someone who has a passion for teaching science, who will be an effective member of the Science leadership team making a positive contribution to the day to day running of the Science department. A recruitment and retention payment is available for the successful candidate. Part-time and flexible working will be considered.

Testbourne is a high performing school, with students consistently achieving excellent results each year. Science results are always in the top 20 percent of schools nationally and in 2023 72% achieved grade 7-9 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Testbourne Community School, an 11-16 comprehensive school with an extremely able cohort, is an Outstanding School (Ofsted 2010) which provides a forward thinking, outward looking and vibrant learning environment.
