Job Purpose
To deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute to the professional, corporate life of the school in relation to pupils, staff and appropriate external bodies within the agreements of the SNCT
Requirements
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
Appropriate teaching qualification
Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the appropriate subject/sector, or be eligible for such registration
PVG scheme membership
Responsibilities
The post holder is expected to demonstrate:
Ability to teach the full curriculum in the relevant subject or sector, and to develop the curriculum
Ability to manage and organise classes through planning and preparing for teaching and learning
Ability to assess, record and report on the work of pupils’ progress to inform a range of teaching and learning approaches
Ability to prepare pupils for examinations and qualifications and where required, assist with their administration
Ability to contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school
Ability to contribute to the school and council planning and improvement processes
Ability to maintain and develop knowledge and skills and contribute to the professional development of colleagues including probationary and student teachers

An exciting and singular opportunity for an innovative leader has arisen in Aberdeen with the availability of the post of Head Teacher at Glashieburn School.
Located to the north Aberdeen of in the suburb of Bridge of Don, Glashieburn School was built in 1979. There are currently ten mainstream classes for the roll of approximately 300 pupils and a sixty place nursery.
The catchment area for Glashieburn School is predominantly private housing.
The Associated Schools Group (ASG) comprises primaries at Danestone, Forehill, Greenbrae and Middleton Park Primary and Oldmachar Academy.
The school Leadership Team consists of the Head Teacher and two Depute Head Teachers. One DHT has the responsibility for the Nursery to Primary three department along with the lead for Maths across the school. The other DHT has responsibility for the Primary four to Primary seven, with a lead role for Literacy across the school.
The school has a talented staff who work together to ensure that the needs of all of our pupils are met. The facilities are very good and have recently been altered to increase the size of the Nursery. The school also has a strong Pupil Support Team who work across the school, with two members of the team specifically identified for the ASN area.
The school routinely works with families, partners, staff and pupils to evaluate its work and sets a clear agenda for further improvement. This culture of self-evaluation ensures that all of pupils experience the very best learning opportunities resulting in positive outcomes for learners.
Pupil attainment and achievement is good, attendance is high and exclusions are minimal. The school prides itself in having a most positive reputation within its community.
