Mill Green School is an ‘Outstanding’ maintained community special school, providing an inclusive education to 135 young people aged 14-19. Due to continued school growth, the Governing Body are seeking to appoint a motivated and resilient Teacher to join our hard working, dynamic and enthusiastic team, who shares in our determination to transform the life chances young people who attend Mill Green.

Applications are welcomed from a range of specialisms, from Catering to Music or Life Skills to Horticulture - what is important to us is that you are flexible, adaptable and can rise to the challenge of supporting and developing the young people who attend our school.


The successful candidate will be motivated by the belief that every young person can achieve their potential. Whilst previous experience of working in a SEN environment is desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. Our young people have complex needs that can present as complex emotional and behavioural needs. This means they need more support than most.


As a teacher at Mill Green School, you will seek to enhance the learning opportunities for our young people, supporting them in their preparation for adulthood and next steps into continued education, employment or life! You will be delivering inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning in a nurturing, supportive environment. You will constantly strive to produce outstanding teaching and learning to ensure that all learners succeed and will not be afraid to initiate new ideas and take risks in a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring that our learners are able to achieve, be valued and feel secure.
