Job overview
A rare and exciting opportunity to join the growing team at our 4-16 Alternative Provision Free School.
Aspire Academy is an Alternative Provision set up in September 2014 under the Free School route and situated in Harlow, Essex. Our mission is to provide the highest quality, most inclusive alternative provision for some of the most vulnerable and needy local children and young people aged 4-16, for whom mainstream provision is not proving appropriate or successful. We offer medium and long placements on a full-time or part-time basis. The majority of places have been commissioned by local schools/academies and the Local Authority.
We work with up to 100 pupils – 20 of whom are in our primary department.
This role is not for the faint-hearted. The challenges are significant, but the rewards are substantial.
That’s why it is critical we recruit innovative and inspirational teachers; people who are passionate about alternative provision and have an outstanding record of achievement already. Although experience in this sector is desirable, it is certainly not essential – but a willingness to work with pupils and staff to unlock the barriers to learning is! With teaching styles which are inclusive and based on sound judgement, you’ll be able to work effectively with the Principal, Head of Primary, the Governing Body, the staff, the parents/carers, learners, commissioners and all relevant stakeholders.
