Teacher at Ortu Corringham Primary School

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional teacher for Ortu Corringham Primary School a member of the Ortu Federation. As a teacher you will be a dynamic and committed member of staff who will join a forward-thinking and innovative team in this ambitious Primary School. Working closely with the Principal you will provide a high quality of education for all pupils.

The Federation has ambitious plans to transform education in our academies, developing an aspirant culture and a dynamic learning experience that will rapidly improve the educational outcomes for all pupils.

About the school:

Our school is located in the heart of Corringham.  Ortu Corringham Primary School is a long established school first serving the community of Corringham in 1870.  Many of our current pupils’ parents and families have been part of the school and we have teachers who were also our pupils.

We became an Academy on 1st October 2013 and joined the Ortu Federation.  This allows us access to a rich network where of shared best practise with our family of schools, Ortu Gable Hall School and Ortu Hassenbrook Academy.  We are now on our journey to be outstanding.

In November 2016 the school was inspected by Ofsted who graded the school as 'GOOD' in every area and 'OUTSTANDING' for Personal Development and Welfare of the children.

We have two classes in each year group. The children are supported in their learning, social and emotional development by a highly qualified and committed team of professionals.

To ensure we achieve our aim to provide an education our children enjoy which prepares them for academic and personal success now and in the future, all classes have additional adult support from our highly qualified Learning Support Assistants. We also have a pastoral team to support our children and families when they need further help.

We are an inclusive school and provide the community with a specialised provision for children with Speech and Language difficulties.  These children receive specialised Speech Therapy, Speech and Language Teaching and are also supported in their mainstream class.

Our school is an exciting place to learn and our pupils work hard and behave well.  We are proud of our focus on traditional values, good manners and enthusiasm for learning.  Our staff are happy to work here.

We could say a lot more but we think the best way for you to get a feel for what it would be like to work for Ortu Corringham Primary School is to pay us a visit. Julie Painter, Office Manager of Corringham Primary School, would be happy to arrange for you to talk to the CEO and / or visit the school, students and staff so do give her a call on 01375 672157.

If you have the drive to lead and transform learning for our wonderful pupils, we want to hear from you.

The Local Advisory Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and requires all staff and volunteers to demonstrate this commitment in every aspect of their work.

AIMS, CULTURES & ETHOS

The staff and Governors of Gable Hall have produced a statement of aims and objectives which will be realised through the curriculum, organisation and ethos of the School. The curriculum, which is broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated, has been designed within the framework of the National Curriculum to meet the needs of individual pupils.

Specifically we aim:

to give pupils the experience of school as a caring, supportive community where life is enjoyable and where there is equal provision regardless of sex, race or culture.

to enable pupils to develop as fully as possible their abilities, interests and aptitudes and to make additional provision if necessary for those who are in any way disadvantaged.

to help pupils to develop lively, enquiring minds, to be capable of independent thought and to experience enjoyment in learning so that they may be encouraged to take advantage of educational opportunities in later life.

to develop appropriate skills in numeracy, literacy and ICT.

to ensure contact with those areas of knowledge and experience which will help pupils to know more about themselves and the society in which they live, to respect religious and moral values and be tolerant of other races, religions, and ways of life.

to work in ways which will enhance the self-respect and confidence of pupils and encourage them to take responsibility for themselves and their activities.

to establish a partnership between the School and the community it serves and to develop understanding of the wider community and of the ways in which individuals and groups relate.

to give pupils the skills necessary to respond effectively to social, economic and political change and to changing patterns of work

to encourage an appreciation of and a concern for the environment.
