Job overview

Position: Class Teacher

Salary: M1 to UPS3

Contractual Status: Permanent

We are looking for an excellent teacher who loves working with children and is dedicated to inclusive education.

We are recruiting a qualified class teacher (this could be an ECT, Mainscale or Upper Payscale Teacher) who is keen to become part of a committed, happy team. We are enthusiastic about providing a high-quality, experiential and broad education, underpinned by a child-centred approach.

We welcome applications for EYFS, KS1 or KS2 - please indicate your preference on your application (we encourage our staff to move across phases during their career when the time is right).

There may also be opportunities for Middle Leadership roles in September.

We can offer you the opportunity to work in an inclusive, positive and nurturing environment. Our school is diverse in many ways and we have a wonderfully strong school community. Children at Primrose Hill School are kind, articulate and happy.

We can also offer you a visible, proactive and caring SLT who work hard to ensure that teachers can be the best they can be.

SLT are both ambitious for the school and supportive of colleagues. There is a culture of school improvement and care for staff wellbeing and workload. We have a restorative behaviour policy and pride ourselves on the strengths of our relationships with both colleagues and children.

Our school community is happy and very encouraging. Parents are engaged, want the best for their children and work well together with school staff.

We are committed to continuous improvement and learning for all. You will have access to high quality in-house and external CPD. There are real opportunities here to excel, innovate and develop professionally.

If you are dynamic and creative, and truly passionate about teaching and education, then we would really welcome your application. When writing your personal statement, please refer to each point in the Person Specification in the Job Description and include examples wherever possible.

 The successful candidate will:

·     Have a record of excellent classroom practice with strong subject knowledge.

·      Be an energetic and innovative teacher who sets and achieves high standards in teaching and learning.

·      Have excellent communication skills and will work well as part of a team to make a positive school contribution.

·      Be committed to continually reflect upon their practice and develop themselves further, in order to provide the best possible education for our children.

·      Be committed to inclusion and ensuring that all children feel a sense of belonging, progress and achieve well.

·      Be positive, approachable and a team-player with a good sense of humour

If you feel that you meet the criteria above and that we may be a good fit for you, then please get in touch to visit the school. This can also be done after you submit your application.

Visits can be organised by

Primrose Hill is a two form entry Primary School occupying an impressive, listed Victorian building in a beautiful part of London.

The school looks out on to Regent’s Canal and is near to a number of interesting places such as London Zoo, Camden Lock and Regents Park all of which are visited by the children. There are two large playgrounds and
a separate Nursery building with its own enclosed playground.

We have around 482 children on roll in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. There are two parallel classes in each year group, apart from Year 5 where we have 3 classes and the Nursery where there are 39 full time places.  Classes are identified by their year number followed by the initial of the teacher’s first name.

We aim to maximise children’s achievement by removing barriers to learning through a varied, creative, inclusive curriculum delivered in a safe, stimulating environment. As a primary school, we believe we have a key role in society in combating discrimination and promoting fairness, justice and equality through our teaching and in the role models we offer.
