Teacher (CAMHS)

Ticehurst Hospital School (CAMHS)

Permanent - Full Time

Up to £32,500 per annum

Full time - 37.5 hours per week

At Priory Education & Children's Services, we are proud of our reputation for delivering quality education and care services with positive outcomes for children and young people aged 5 to 25 who have experienced difficulties in their previous education placements.

Ticehurst Hospital School is an independent co-educational day school for young people aged 11 to 18. Our students are all inpatients of the CAMHS Tier 4 unit and PICU at The Priory Hospital Ticehurst.  We have a team of specialist Teachers and Teaching Assistants who deliver education to all young people at the hospital, where the school is based.

It is our intention that every student develops their courage, determination and skills as a learner, so they can re-engage confidently with their education on discharge. We liaise with mainstream schools and colleges and each young person has an individualised curriculum plan in each subject area, with progress being closely monitored.  Our school offers a broad based academic and enrichment curriculum with specialist teaching spaces, teaching technologies and substantial grounds around our buildings.

Are you...

An outstanding practitioner, committed to the best possible outcomes for young people?

Passionate about influencing educational best practice?

Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team of professionals?

A flexible teacher, able to support forward thinking change and respond quickly to the needs of each young person we teach?

An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual?

Do you have experience working with young people with social, emotional or mental health problems?

The successful candidate will have responsibility for curriculum development in their areas of strength (preferably Mathematics) as well as the pastoral care of a small tutor group supported by the Senior Teacher and Head of School.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from mainstream or specialist education or community provision who are looking to move into a hospital specialist setting.

If you have relevant experience, possibly with a relevant additional qualifications, then why not contact the Head Teacher, Patricia Wilson for an informal chat on 07802 876868.  Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

Closing date is Monday 25th March 2019, with interviews to be held in the same week.
