Position Information 

Cardiff North Public School, situated in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Cardiff, has strong partnerships with the Cardiff Community of Schools, the Kumaridha AECG and the University of Newcastle. Our 2022 enrolment is 138 students. The school population includes 7% Aboriginal students and 3% of students have a language background other than English.

Teaching and learning programs provide a strong foundation for student success. Evidence-based Literacy and Numeracy programs are supported by instructional leadership. Cardiff North Public School is committed to ensuring high quality education produces successful learners, confident and creative individuals and positive contributors to society. Cardiff North Public School has a strong focus on student wellbeing, community engagement and quality teaching and learning. The enthusiastic and professional staff work as a collaborative team, consistently improving themselves as educators, embracing a growth mindset. Staff are committed to quality teaching and learning that nurtures and inspires students to achieve their individual potential. Ready to Learn Partnership Plans ensure students' individual learning and wellbeing goals are created collaboratively with students, teachers and parents with successes regularly celebrated. Students enjoy opportunities to engage in self-regulating wellbeing practices, including brain gym and social and emotional learning. Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach infants and primary, with a demonstrated ability to provide high-quality literacy and numeracy programs using evidence-based pedagogies and quality assessment practices to personalise learning and cater for the diverse needs of all students.

Demonstrated commitment to whole school positive wellbeing programs, with a strong emphasis on effective classroom practices and behaviour management strategies, to support all students in their learning and wellbeing.

Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills, committed to building positive, collaborative partnerships with staff, students, families and the broader community.

Demonstrated capacity to enrich student learning opportunities by coordinating and implementing whole school activities in areas which may include information communication technology, sport, dance and drama.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

From 8 November 2021 all Department of Education employees undertaking relevant work including any work conducted on a NSW school site, will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The successful candidate for this position will be required to confirm full vaccination status prior to the Department of Education finalising the appointment of the candidates and entry on duty.
