We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated individual, with a relevant degree or equivalent experience (2:1 or above desirable) coupled with a thorough knowledge of the relevant curriculum and a successful track record of teaching in a sixth form or  further education establishment. You will be experienced in providing for the needs of learners with a focus on delivering outstanding learning experiences and be a strong team player with excellent communication skills. You will coordinate a programme or group of programmes with responsibility for the quality of the curriculum, curriculum development and planning, preparation, tracking and monitoring of assessments and leadership of the course/subject and team

You will plan and deliver study programmes using a wide range of strategies to meet individual learner needs and act as a subject or personal tutor.

Tameside College is a coeducational further education establishment. It is situated in the town of Ashton-under-Lyne, in Lancashire. It gives students a range of qualifications to choose from. This includes BTEC, Apprenticeships and degrees. The college also manages and owns Clarendon Sixth Form College, Camp Street, Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire OL6 6DF.

“The college makes a very significant difference to learners’ lives, as the majority of learners come from challenging backgrounds; many learners develop strong work-related skills through a range of successful college-based initiatives which develop self-confidence and work-readiness; learners enjoy and take pride in studying at the college. Success rates are very high for apprentices and workplace learners. Support from staff helps learners to overcome barriers to learning; learners use of the virtual learning environment (VLE) well to consolidate learning and develop study and research skills. Teachers’ high levels of industrial experience and good links with employers enthuse and motivate learners."
