Teacher of Design & Technology - Specialising in Food Technology

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic graduate Teacher of Design & Technology (Maternity Cover) with a specialism in Food Technology as this will make up the majority of the timetabled lessons. The ideal candidate should be able to teach up to A Level (Product Design) in addition to KS3 Food Technology and GCSE (AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition). The Design and Technology department is a small but well-equipped, successful department.

St. Simon Stock Catholic School Founded in 1967 as a school of the Archdiocese of Southwark, the School recently celebrated 50 years of Catholic education serving Maidstone and the west of Kent. The School has a Sports Hall and Designated 6th Form Centre, specialist Science labs [the School has a Science specialism], Technology workshops, Muga sports facility.

CPD - involves a series of twilight sessions on areas identified by staff through appraisal; electives are created from courses attended by staff to feedback to colleagues; training for new areas e.g. LGBTQ,SEN, Pupil Premium, etc. A Senior Member of Staff has the encouragement of career progression as part of their role in addition to Performance Management and CPD in order to gain a holistic overview of training.

OFSTED - Section 5-Good; Section 48-Outstanding in all categories.
