We are seeking an enthusiastic Computer Aided Design specialist to spearhead our new Technical Digital Media programme for September 2016.
 
You will be a dedicated and highly motivated professional, keen to contribute to a vibrant Media curriculum with the capacity to inspire all our learners to contribute effectively to todays' global Creative Industries or progress further in Education.
 
You will have an excellent track record teaching Digital Media Design and/or industry experience in Computer Aided Design. Knowledge of either creating Digital Graphics, 2D/3D Animation/Graphics, Digital Photo-Imaging, Social Media/Mobile App Design is essential.   Excellent administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team are also essential. You'll also contribute to the development of new strategies to improve the delivery and quality of teaching and learning across the College.
 
Teaching would be across Advanced Diploma, Intermediate levels, there is also potential to contribute to future Higher Education provision.
 
Teaching Advanced Diploma would provide an ideal opportunity for a Media Design professional to move into the education sector, which has benefits such as a generous holiday allowance, chance for progression and a good pension scheme. Ideally you will be degree qualified in Computer Aided Design or related subject and hold a teaching qualification; teaching experience at Level 4 would be desirable. Applicants without a Teaching qualification would need to demonstrate a willingness to work towards a suitable qualification via an Apprenticeship agreement.
 
Intermediate level teaching requires enthusiasm and a dedicated commitment to helping learners and would provide an ideal opportunity to further develop new or existing teaching experience.
 
In addition, all candidates must have a Level 2 or equivalent qualifications in maths and English or a willingness to work towards.
 
Successful candidates will also be expected to maintain strong industry links, develop collaborative activities with industry, promote innovative on-line learning resources, work closely with community and educational partners, add to the department's professional research and enhance students' employability prospects in the creative industries.

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.   

Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
