Teaching ServiceBatemans Bay High School has a student population of approximately 700 students located on the south coast. The school has links to the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and an Aboriginal Learning Centre to support the 165 Aboriginal students. Batemans Bay High School has 8 support classes that include two ED classes, four MC classes and an IO and IS class catering to the diverse needs of our students. We are a well resourced school in a supportive environment were students benefit from a focus on wellbeing. The building of positive relationships has enhanced educational opportunities and allows students at Batemans Bay High School to achieve educational outcomes.
Approval to teach Drama and English (7-10) and approval and/or willingness to teach English (11-12).
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
The ability to work as a contributing member of the faculty team with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to collaboratively develop teaching programs and resources. Which aim to improve student outcomes and performance across all stages.
Demonstrated capacity to differentiate teaching and learning for mixed ability classes, including students with challenging behaviours and Aboriginal students.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
