Position Information 

EA Southee Public School provides a dynamic and authentic educational environment in which all students access quality educational programs within a varied, balanced and differentiated curriculum. The school maintains a culture based upon continuous student improvement and all learners operating collaboratively.

Our students are seen as lifelong learners within a Neoteric Innovative Learning Environment (NILE) which incorporates a co-educator model in all classrooms, flexible seating options and Explicit Instruction. Positive Behaviour for Learning and student voice is encouraged to acknowledge the students and the importance of their ideas. EA Southee has 23% ATSI student population with a total current enrolment of 95 students.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach Infants and Primary (K-6) with a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs using evidence-informed practices, assessment strategies and data analysis to improve student outcomes and growth, with a willingness to teach public speaking and debating, visual arts and music.
  2. Evidence and demonstrated commitment to collaborate and co-educate using reflective practice, feedback and quality professional dialogue to build the capacity of self and others. 
  3. Experience or demonstrated capacity in leading quality teaching and learning in a flexible and agile learning environment with the use of technology and innovative practice to enhance learning for students. 
  4. Proven ability to develop creative and positive classroom learning environments with a thorough understanding of effective behaviour management strategies to enhance student wellbeing.
  5. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy with demonstrated capacity to support Aboriginal students and embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across the curriculum for all students.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

From 8 November 2021 all Department of Education employees undertaking relevant work, including any work conducted on a NSW school site, will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
