Teaching ServiceEglinton Public School, established 153 years ago, is a dynamic village school nestled on the Macquarie River in Bathurst. The school enjoys close ties with its community and the range of programs acknowledges both community and individual student needs. The school provides a wide range of sporting options, enrichment programs in debating and public speaking and learning support programs in literacy and numeracy. The school has a proud tradition of achievement in the creative arts.
Eglinton Public School strongly supports 450 students (including 10% Aboriginal and 10% EALD) across 17 mainstream and 4 support education classes. Our student welfare, and learning support policies and programs, create a quality learning environment for all students underpinned by a culture of high expectation, respect, personal pride and a sense of belonging in their school.
Our 2021-2024 School Plan has been informed by an extensive situational analysis undertaken in 2020. We have analysed both internal and external data and determined that we will address ongoing improvement in reading, numeracy, wellbeing and community partnerships. Our focus areas for school improvement will be High Expectations, Explicit Teaching, Collaboration, Wellbeing, Use of data to inform practice and Classroom Management.
1. Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) with demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs to improve literacy and numeracy using evidence-based, data informed practices.
2. Evidence of excellent classroom management to develop a positive and inclusive learning environment to enhance the engagement and wellbeing of all students.
3. Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with the wider school community and actively contribute to extra-curricular student learning programs beyond the classroom with a proven ability to coordinate and contribute to whole school activities including but not limited to Sport.
4. Willingness and capacity to support and promote a culture of inclusivity and diversity to embed the Department's Aboriginal education policies to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal students and students from other cultures.
