Heritage College is seeking to employ a Teacher of English and Music for a short term contract (part time 4 days) from 13 September – 9 November 2018.

About Heritage College

Heritage College is an independent, co-educational, Prep – Year 12 Christian school located in the suburb of Narre Warren South, 40kms south east of Melbourne’s CBD. The school has an approximate enrolment of 370 students with 70% having a language background other than English. The College is supported by 40 teaching staff both part and full-time.

The College was established 1999 when Oakleigh Primary School and Carrum Downs Primary School amalgamated in one central location. In 2004 the academic program was extended for secondary students.

Facilities

The College is set on two Campuses, the Narre Warren Campus and the Officer Campus. Educational facilities at the Narre Warren Campus include; a library, I.T. rooms, science labs, home economics, technology, music and art centres and a newly completed multipurpose centre. Students enjoy two separate playgrounds, sand pit, a large sheltered courtyard, a soccer field, an oval, tennis and basketball court. The newer Officer Campus currently caters for Prep - Year4 and Years 7 – 12.

Curriculum

The College follows the Victorian Essential Learning Standards framework (VELS), and incorporates the Australian Curriculum. For Primary school students “Curriculum is taught in four main areas, from a Christian perspective by qualified and dedicated Christian teachers and includes: Bible and Life Skills, Physical, Personal and Social Learning, Disciplinary-based Learning and Interdisciplinary Learning.” Secondary students have a broad range of subjects available while continuing with core subject requirements including Religious Studies. Senior students are able to complete their VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) for a university entrance or can complete a range of Vocational Education and Training Courses.
