About the role
We are seeking a suitably qualified Teacher to teach the following subjects and work with our dedicated Academic Staff as we extend our students to achieve their potential:

  • English
  • The Arts (Drama and Media Arts preferred)

As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:
  • Successfully implement the Australian Curriculum in the nominated learning areas and collaboratively develop safe, supportive, co-operative and quality student-centered learning sequences
  • Have a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum, assessment and reporting expectations and experience in enacting a systematic curriculum delivery 
  • Promote our College MMC Learning Dispositions to be Curious, Creative, Self-directed and Resilient
  • An ability to identify and cater for high potential learning and students requiring support
  • Proactively engage with professional renewal practices to enhance student learning outcomes 
  • Work in partnership with the College Leadership Team, Middle Leaders, Academic Staff and School Officers, and contribute to the life of the College
  • Embrace our college policies and practices which priorities effective pedagogical practices
  • Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
  • Be supportive of the liturgical and prayer life of the College and Catholic Education
  • Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
  • Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes


About you
To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:

  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

About our school: Mary MacKillop College is a vibrant Catholic girl’s school for students from Years 7 to 12. Founded in 1964, we have a rich history and tradition, grounded in our Catholic faith and the teachings of Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint.

Do I have to be Catholic?
All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. \If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
