This is an exciting opportunity to gain a permanent position within a thriving and highly regarded team. We are a specialist advisory service based in the Children's Services Directorate of Tower Hamlets Council.
As an Inclusion Support teacher, you would be expected to work in an advisory and teaching capacity within mainstream schools across both phases, supporting schools to address a range of Special Educational Needs, in particular Social, Mental and Emotional needs. A key part of the role is providing SENCo support to local schools.
You will also be liaising with schools, parents/carers and external agencies.
The role is wide and varied, requiring you to be empathetic and flexible in your approach, helping schools and settings to meet the needs of children with SEND, ensuring that a high quality service is delivered to children, young people and their families and carers.
You will model good practice to teaching and support staff and provide advice and guidance to schools, including providing training, individual assessment, and strategic development support. You will also undertake direct teaching of individuals and small groups.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Extensive experience of working with, or in, a school or education setting in an SEN role and be able to demonstrate a broad range of skills and expertise in working with other agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for children, schools and families.
- Specialist qualifications in or related to working with pupils with Social, Mental and Emotional Needs, Counselling or therapeutic expertise and/or the NASENCO award will be a considerable advantage.
- First-rate communication and organisational skills and a high level of knowledge of how good inclusive practice raises standards for all is essential.

Benefits and Allowances
- MPS + 1 SEN point + TLR2B up to UPS3
- Salary range up to £53,300
