Teacher French Language & Literature and French Language Acquisition
Starting date: 1st of August 2019 (earlier if possible)
The right candidate will be able to inspire and motivate students through their teaching of French in both the MYP, CP and DP programmes. Experience of and willingness to teach French Literature is required.
The successful candidate will be a team player who is highly motivated and fully embraces the school's ethos. They will be committed to delivering high quality learning experiences, which meet the needs of all students, regardless of their skills, attainment, and particular learning needs. Applicants must be willing to lead by example and play a full part in the school’s pastoral care and extra-curricular programme.
Please note that only candidates with full teaching certification in French and a valid teaching licence in their home country will be considered for this role: for this vacancy Language Acquisition qualifications are not sufficient.

The International School of The Hague is a highly successful, innovative and energetic semi-public school located in a state-of-the-art building in an area of natural beauty on the edge of the city of The Hague, near Kijkduin. All applicants must either be EU citizens or have a valid permit to work in The Netherlands.
Applicants are required to complete an online profile, provide a supporting statement, and upload a CV. Applicants must provide details of three referees, of which one must be their most recent supervisor. If shortlisted, we will contact referees prior to interview. For teachers, we require one from the head of school or deputy head. Once short-listed, interviews will be conducted by Skype or in person, depending on the nature of the position and the applicant's location.

- For all applicants to ISH Primary, a Bachelors Degree will suffice to be considered. However, all ISH Secondary applicants will need a Bachelor plus a Masters Level qualification in Education.
- For applicants from the UK, you will have completed the PGCE and been awarded QTS plus successful completion of the NQT induction year.
- For all applicants to ISH Secondary, your qualifications at either Bachelor or Masters level must also clearly indicate the subject that you are applying to teach in, in order to be recognized by DUO.

To this end, the leadership team is required to conduct an oral reference check by directly contacting the current or previous employer. Furthermore, those who are appointed at The International School of The Hague are required to obtain a Certificate of good conduct (in Dutch: VOG).

The decision to issue this certificate lies with the Ministry of Justice (in Dutch: Dienst Justitie).
