The Sensory Service are seeking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and resourceful teacher to the Hearing Impairment team. The post is offered on a permanent, 0.5 FTE basis depending on the successful candidate. The post is of a peripatetic nature based in Dumfries.

Applicants will have extended teaching experience and must be committed to removing barriers to learning. The successful candidates must be willing to undertake training in British Sign Language and Teacher of the Hearing Impaired qualifications.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered in the appropriate sector with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

A significant relocation package of up to £5000 may be available to the successful
