Joseph Clarke school is highly regarded for its expertise in vision impairment. This is an exciting time to join as we are an expanding school and have just moved into a fantastic new building which is part of a redevelopment programme.
We are seeking to appoint a flexible, motivated and adaptable teacher to work across the school with young people with vision impairment and or complex needs. You must be willing to teach subjects across the curriculum in addition to your own area of specialism.
You must also be willing to learn to support pupils with vision impairment, including learning Braille, and after one year, study for the Qualification for Teachers of Children and Young People with Vision Impairments.

Joseph Clarke School- based in Highams park has an excellent reputation for the education of pupils with vision impairment that draws pupils aged 3-19 from 12 different London Boroughs, Essex and Hertfordshire. It has spaces for 100 pupils, and is currently expanding to 140 places.
Whitefield Schools –based in Walthamstow provides specialist education for pupils with complex needs including communication and interaction difficulties
Both Schools attract pupils from across London and surrounding counties and together have more than 425 pupils on roll.
The Research and Development Centre provides support, training and resources for both school staff and other professionals. It also hosts an excellent library and an Outreach Service which supports pupils across 4 Local Authorities.
Waltham Forest as an area combines the best aspects of vibrant city living with easy access to some beautiful green spaces. It has excellent transport links.
