Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a Teacher in Charge of Academic PE to join a High School based in Sutton.

The High School is seeking an engaging and passionate teacher to deliver GCSE and A Level PE to highly motivated girls in Key Stages 4 & 5. Sport, health, fitness and physical education are a highly regarded and important part of their core curriculum, with high uptake for the subject at GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate, if full-time, will also be willing to teach some core PE lessons to Years 6-9.

To be successful in this role, you should have the capability to teach academic PE at both GCSE and A Level, creating challenging and thought-provoking lessons, with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration. You will have the leadership skills, vision and organisational ability to take ownership of the Academic PE focus within the department. Your interests will lie in the theory aspects of the PE curriculum.

This role would suit an experienced teacher of PE who wishes to focus on the academic aspects of the subject, further developing the curriculum in this popular subject.

The role is initially offered as a fixed-term contract for one year.
