Job overview

Want to make a difference to young people’s futures?

Believe that teaching numeracy can be engaging and exciting?

Keen to join a team that consistently achieves beyond national standards?

The Foundation Maths team at Exeter College is dedicated to an experience of post-16 Maths that prioritises difference, engagement, and confidence: a different experience to school, encouraging new and exciting approaches. We believe the teaching of maths should be inherently engaging, so every lesson we teach aims to showcase the joy of the subject. We are an experienced, energetic and collaborative team that work hard to help our learners build confidence in a subject many have found challenging in the past.

We have an exciting opportunity for a teacher to join this innovative and creative team to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths. You will join a team of specialists who are dedicated to transforming the experience of our learners in the maths classroom. You will demonstrate an untiring drive to support learners in developing their numeracy, while managing effective and inspiring learning in the classroom. You will have a passion for engaging and motivating learners who may have previously found maths a struggle. You will also be a strong communicator and relate effectively to young people.

A teacher in Foundation Maths will be expected to contribute to areas of our curriculum development and teaching approach within the team. Guided by an experienced Head of Foundation Maths and English, and a CAM for Foundation Maths, a successful candidate will be supported to contribute fully to our continuing excellence.

Applications from experienced teachers, as well as those newer to the profession are welcome; we will be seeking to appoint a teacher with the greatest ability, enthusiasm and commitment to our ethos in the team.
