Royal School for the Deaf Derby is a unique provider of day and residential placements for deaf children and young people.  We are committed to placing the experiences and progress of each learner at the heart of our everyday practice.  

We are looking for an accomplished professional to join our Primary Department.  You will have a proven record of delivering high quality teaching and learning to pupils with a wide range of needs and be a creative and innovative practitioner with the ability to inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential.   

All teaching and learning is supported by a team of competent and committed in-house specialists including Specialist Speech and Language Therapy, Teachers of the Deaf, Educational Audiologist, Complex Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Paediatric Nurse, Education Assistants, Behaviour, Safeguarding and Wellbeing Leads.

This role is a Regulated Activity under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act. The person appointed will be expected to fully participate in the school’s proactive approach to safeguarding vulnerable groups and complete an application for an enhanced criminal record disclosure.
