Position Information 

Elderslie High School, located between Narellan and Camden, is a comprehensive coeducational school (Years 7-12) with an enrolment of 1050 students including 70 Aboriginal students.

Our broad curriculum is designed to cater for the diverse range of student learning needs. There is a strong tradition of academic excellence at Elderslie High School and our students have the opportunity to engage in many extracurricular activities including sport, Duke of Edinburgh Program, debating, agriculture, dance, drama and public speaking. Significant links have been developed between the school and the surrounding community.

Our informed and committed community have high expectations for student achievement and ongoing success in academic, cultural, vocational and sporting areas.

The school is an integral part of the Macarthur Trade Training Centre. The school has a Support Unit with three classes of students with Autism.

Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach secondary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.

Capacity to work collaboratively with the school community to develop the school's library as an innovative and welcoming learning environment and resource centre.

Demonstrated ability to lead students and staff in the use of technology to enhanced future focused learning skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff to meet literacy outcomes and the needs of a diverse range of learners.

Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with evidence of collaborative practice and demonstrated ability to build positive relationships across the school community.

Capacity to engage, support and extend research and study skills for senior students.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
