Teacher Librarian - immediate start

Dubai International Academy (DIA), Emirates Hills is looking for an experienced Teacher Librarian with experience in an international school, teaching IB PYP, MYP or DP. DIA, caters to students from KG1 to IB Diploma, offering a rigorous curriculum and a rich language programme in an international setting based on the four prestigious programmes from the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate – Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP), Middle Years Programme (IB-MYP), Career-related Programme( IB-CP) and Diploma Programme (IB-DP). In fact, we were the first school in the U.A.E authorised by the International Baccalaureate to offer the full continuum of the IB curriculum and have a legacy of academic excellence. 

JOB SCOPE: 

• To manage and coordinate Library facilities efficiently to support the educational needs of the school;              

• To oversee the collection and cataloging of library materials, and to develop and direct information programmes for students and staff; 

• To help all students and staff become “information gatherers” and to nurture the gift of life-long learning, through providing library skills activities; 

• To work with the wider community to encourage reading and literacy skills; 

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Experience in IB-PYP, IB-MYP, IB-CP and IB-DP, or any other outcomes-based education system preferred. 

• Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience 

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Library and or Information systems, preferably with a recognized teaching certification. ,eg. PGCE, Teaching License, QTS Status etc. 

• Excellent communication, technology and organisational skills are key requirements 

• Successful applicants will be required to undergo further training in preparation for Teaching License approval
