Position Information 

Spring Farm Public School (enrolment 675, 27% students from a non-English speaking background, 42 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students) is a recently established primary school in South-West Sydney. The community of Spring Farm has grown rapidly over the past five years. The school has a diverse and transient student enrolment, with anticipated growth of at least 10% in 2021. The traditional custodians of the land are the Dharawal people.

Spring Farm Public School is founded on a compassionate and collaborative learning culture. In addition to 27 mainstream classes, Spring Farm Public School has a support unit which is comprised of two IO/IS classes and two multicategorical classes.

Spring Farm Public School is a PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school, staffed by dedicated, supportive teachers who deliver quality, engaging teaching and learning programs. The school has a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and student wellbeing. 

Spring Farm Public School is committed to maintaining positive relationships with the Parents and Citizens' Association and wider community. The school is the local hub for local organisations such as playgroups, sporting programs and weekend community events.

Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval teach library primary or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education and capacity or willingness to manage the Oliver operating system and whole school literacy resources.
  2. Proven ability to use data to differentiate literacy and numeracy programs.
  3. Demonstrated ability to collaboratively plan, teach and assess engaging programs and develop ICT skills.
  4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive relationships with the entire school community. 
  5. Demonstrated ability to create positive relationships with students and support and manage complex behaviours, including students with Trauma backgrounds, ASD, ODD.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
