Position Information 

Trangie Central School is an inclusive school with a student population of 192 students, ranging from Kindergarten through to Year 12 with 55% identified as Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander. It is a growing rural school, located amongst the cotton and wheat fields, 72km west of the major NSW regional centre of Dubbo.

The staff, students and community have high expectations for academic attainment and foster a culture of acceptance, tolerance and kindness. The school's wellbeing structures are underpinned by positive value expectations to be Safe, Respectful Learners and includes successful programs to develop resilience from Kindergarten through to Year 12. Trangie Central School strives to offer opportunities for each student to find their strengths, allowing them to excel.

The focus on Quality Teaching and Learning has led to a strong school culture of learning. The school also has a fundamental belief in the importance of early intervention with Early Action for Success and Early Birds Transition to School Program providing a strong foundation for Kindergarten students. Stage 6 will move to a Compressed Curriculum structure from 2021, supporting student academic success and wellbeing. 

Strong community connections are integral to all that we do. The school has strong community connections with and active P&C supporting the school in improving facilities for students.

Trangie Central School has a strong working relationship with the Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) and local community Elders and has a proud history of being a true community resource.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach Mathematics (7-10), Mathematics (11-12) and willingness to teach music 7-10.
  2. The ability to collaboratively develop and implement differentiated teaching programs, including incorporation of future focussed teaching and learning strategies and technology integration.
  3. Capacity to use evidence-based classroom practice and behaviour management, that fosters a culture of high expectations.
  4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to contribute to a K-12 school community environment.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

From 8 November 2021 all Department of Education employees undertaking relevant work, including any work conducted on a NSW school site, will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
