Hurworth House School are looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher to join our Teaching team!

We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.

Hurworth House School is a SEMH specialist provision working with children and young people from the age of 5 – 19 years. It is an expanding school which has a bespoke primary provision and is continuing to develop. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an environment which provides a blended academic and therapeutic approach. The school employs a professional and experienced therapy team and are developing practice and expertise in a range of areas, leading to innovative and successful approaches for the most marginalised children in our society.

We are looking for a qualified Maths Teacher to lead the learning and development of all key stages across our School. We would like to hear from you if you can create engaging and innovative lesson plans, demonstrate effective teaching practices and strong behaviour management skills.​​​​​​

Hurworth House is a specialist day school located near Darlington for boys and girls aged 7 to 19 years who have complex learning difficulties including behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). The young people may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their difficulties.

The newly refurbished school has been specifically designed to educate young people with complex needs and associated behaviours. Hurworth House can provide places for up to 40 young people. Placements are flexible, including extended day options, for 38 weeks of the year. Many of the young people referred to the school will have a Statement of Special Educational Need, although this is not an admission requirement.
