The Institute of Applied Technology, based in the United Arab Emirates was founded in 2005 through Royal decree of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Abu Dhabi to offer Career-based Technical Education (CTE) in English at the secondary and tertiary levels.  The vision is to produce the scientists, engineers and technicians needed for the UAE to build knowledge based economy.

The Applied Technology High Schools

The Institute has grown significantly from five to sixteen high schools located across all the seven emirates of the UAE.  They provide distinctive secondary school programs that integrate career and technical education with a rigorous academic core.

We are looking for additional Mechanical Engineering Teachers for the new academic year  2022/23 due to growth and increased student numbers.

Applicants should have:

• A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a teaching qualification/License and minimum of 3 years of post-qualification high school teaching experience.

• Candidates experienced with HND/BTEC/TAFE or Similar curriculum and Middle East teaching have an advantage. 

• Thorough knowledge of Machining, CNC, CAD, CAM, Welding are highly desirable

• Assessor and Internal Verifier Certifications

Excellent Oral and written English (IELTS Academic 7.0 certificate for those English not their first language) is required and demonstrated ability to enhance learning through effective integration of ICT into professional practice.

Applied Technology High School - Abu Dhabi Male is a secondary school for boys aged 13-18. It is based in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. 

The school provides a Science and Mathematics curriculum with the aim of creating scientists, engineers and technologists needed to meet the needs of the  economy of the United Arab Emirates.

Applied Technology High School - Abu Dhabi Male aims to provide a career-based technical education for its students. The school wishes to embrace technology. It has affirmed that it wishes for its students to be able to take advantage of technology in the form of iPads and iBooks. Students are also given the opportunity to watch podcasts of professionals in the work place, or explanations about specific topics. In addition, through its Learning Resource Centre, the school aims to provide students with access to resources and up-to-date information in both print and electronic format. The school’s Learning Resource Centre is intended to be a student-centred, dynamic learning hub, which provides the means to transform the students’ learning experience from a conventional one into an interactive, autonomous, one-to-one learning experience. Information Literacy sessions are also provided for students with the aim of developing their critical thinking skills and their ability to conduct research in a thorough manner. Overall, the school aims to offer a distinctive educational experience that integrates career and technical education and that has a rigorous academic core.
