The Role:

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and outstanding classroom practitioner.    

We are excited to meet NQT's, experienced teachers and all those confident in delivering an excellent level of teaching and providing ongoing support to our students.

The successful candidate will: 

- Work with smaller groups of targeted SEN and EAL students. 

- Support the TA. 

- Deliver a unique curriculum designed specifically to target the needs of the current students. 

- Work with a range of departments to plan and implement a primary curriculum. 

- Work with the same students for a range of subjects to include English, Mathematics, Science, Religion, Geography and History with additional English.   

- Work with the same group for the majority of the timetable (17 lessons) who are motivated students that work hard and make progress with support.

History

Holy Trinity Catholic School is a mixed Secondary School located in the Small Heath area of Birmingham. The school is named after the Trinity, the Christian doctrine that defines God as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Holy Trinity is a Voluntary Aided School administered by Birmingham City Council and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham. Despite falling numbers of Catholic pupils, the Catholic ethos and culture in the school is a significant strength and staff make a positive contribution in maintaining this. A significant number of pupils (70%) are Muslim. Holy Trinity Catholic School also welcomes pupils from Hindu and Sikh communities. There are also a number of pupils (1.8%) who are affiliated to no religion.   S48 inspection in March 2015 evaluated Holy Trinity as a ‘beacon school’ for the way it celebrates the faiths and traditions of all in a diverse school population.     Holy Trinity currently has 624 pupils on roll. There is a full intake of 126 in new Year 7 cohort. There are 55.% boys and 45% girls.  Of the numbers currently on roll, 319 (51%) pupils are eligible for Pupil Premium funding. 16% of pupils are recognised as having Special Educational needs. There are 4 pupils with EHC plans. The number of pupils recognised as having EAL needs is on an upward trend. Currently there are 48% of pupils  who are EAL pupils.      Holy Trinity Catholic School was rated as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in December 2017. Significant change and improvement has happened following the school being placed in Special Measures November 2014. Governance and Leadership and Management have improved considerably. A clear vision has been established by Governance and Leadership and Management which has captured the hearts and minds of staff. Staff morale is high as a result of clear direction and protocol. Significant areas of school improved during academic year 2015 / 2016 and progress has accelerated further since September 2016. Pupil progress is now at the centre of all that is done in school with most recent GCSE performance showing a marked improvement. School culture has shifted to reflect a constant need to evolve and to improve. Pupils feel happy and safe in school. Behaviour is at least ‘Good’ in Holy Trinity with fixed-term exclusions rare and significantly below national averages. Parents have remained loyal to the school through difficult times and are incredibly supportive of recent changes and improvements. The school has the capacity and the commitment to make rapid and sustained improvements in the coming years.
