Following the promotion of the present incumbent, Craigholme School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and well qualified part time (0.8) FTE permanent teacher of Art & Design.

Craigholme is a 3-18 school for girls, with a coeducational nursery. Founded in 1884, Craigholme is the only remaining all-girls school in the West of Scotland. We strongly believe in our small class, single-sex approach and our girls’ academic performance is proof of its value.

The successful candidate will be joining the Faculty of Expressive Arts. The Faculty offers a dynamic, creative and innovative experience where the pupils, are encouraged to view the world as their platform.

Through innovative learning and teaching, high academic attainment and creative partnership engagement, the Faculty of Expressive Arts has established itself as truly sector leading. In 2018 the Faculty will take five year groups on an ambitious Expressive Arts trip to Washington DC.

About Craigholme School for Girls

Craigholme School for Girls is an all-through, independent girls' school based in Glasgow, catering for students aged 3-18. The school is non-denominational. Its facilities include a dance studio, a climbing wall, a multi-purpose sports hall and a games field.

Craigholme School for Girls, through its smaller class sizes and single-sex educational approach, aims to offer comprehensive personalised support for its students within a close-knit and inclusive environment. The school intends to ensure that every one of its pupils is treated and valued as an individual, giving them every opportunity to progress and achieve not just academically but also across sports, music and the arts. 

Sports are believed to play a key role in developing social skills, building teamwork and improving fitness. Craigholme School also recognises the social importance of music and the positive effects it can have on academic performance. All pupils are encouraged to take part in choral singing throughout their time at the school.
