Nexus International School Malaysia is seeking a teacher of Art and Design. If you’re keen to demonstrate outstanding standards of teaching and learning, with a passionate, enthusiastic, creative and dynamic attitude then we want to hear from you!

Nexus is located in Putrajaya, near Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Established in 2008 as part of the Taylor’s Education Group, we currently enrol 700 students from Early Years to Year 13 who learn through the IPC, IGCSE and IBDP curricula. We have an inclusive admissions policy and you can expect to teach learners with learning and language needs as well as exceptionally academic and talented children.

The student population is made up of over 30 different nationalities giving our school a truly global character. Previous international experience is not required, but the desire to work in a diverse international community is essential.  All staff are also expected to contribute to the co-curricular programme.

As a member of the successful Art department, you will be expected to teach across the secondary school, focussing in the first year on grades 7-10.  You may be asked to support art lessons in Years 5 and 6 on occasion. We are looking for someone who is able to use a range of media in delivering the art curriculum, which includes fine art as well as photography and digital art.  Nexus is committed to developing personalised learning so that all learners, given their individual gifts and talents, are challenged and make progress and all teachers are expected to develop the skills to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.   As an Apple Distinguished School we expect all teachers to learn to use technology in a transformative way to enhance learning.

We provide a professionally stimulating and collaborative, well-resourced working environment with well-motivated students. We offer a  competitive salary as well as outstanding professional learning opportunities.

For further details please refer to our website www.nexus.edu.my. As this is a part time position it is offered as a Local/Expat post.  A good salary is offered but a benefits package is not included.  This would be an ideal post for someone resident in Malaysia, possibly as a dependent, who is seeking some part time employment.

To apply for the post, please upload your CV and supporting statement before the closing date of May 28th.  Early application is advised as the school reserves the right to make an appointment as soon as a suitable candidate is identified.  If you have further questions about the terms and conditions of the post or any other queries, please contact the Head of  Secondary on mccrorie.m@nexus.edu.my

Nexus International School Malaysia is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the police authorities.
