This innovative and successful 11-18 school first opened in September 2004 and has grown year on year. Oriel High is now oversubscribed with over 1300 students and was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2015; it has excellent facilities and is a dynamic learning community.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and well qualified graduate to join our motivated and successful Arts Faculty as a teacher of both Design Technology and Art. 

The Arts Faculty at Oriel consists of the Art, Design Technology, Drama and Music Subject areas and we are looking for a self-motivated professional to join this dynamic and creative team.

The Oriel Art and Design Technology subject teams are innovative and forward thinking. They comprise 4 full time teachers and 5 part time teachers. There are 4 art rooms, a dark room, a kiln room, a sixth-form studio and a technician’s resource area dedicated to art teaching and learning and additionally 8 specialist Design and Technology teaching rooms all with excellent facilities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent teacher with the ability to inspire, enthuse and engage learners
  • Have the ability to teach all disciplines in Design and Technology and Art across Key Stage 3 and specialise in one or more disciplines at Key Stage 4.

We have excellent support for NQTs and would welcome applications from newly qualified teachers who would like to grow and develop in an innovative and forward thinking department.

We actively encourage CPD throughout the school with a comprehensive programme for teachers at all stages of their careers
