Job overview

Maternity Cover • Fixed Term for 12 months

Slough and Eton is looking for a great teacher to join our Art and Photography department to cover a maternity leave from the Autumn Term. Both Art and Photography are popular subjects at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 and we need someone who can provide maternity cover for the Photography element of the course in additional to Art. For the right candidate this post also comes with a recruitment allowance.

The department is in a dedicated block of specialist rooms and benefits from access to the latest Clevertouch interactive technology. We have great facilities to support the photography work students do which is currently all digital. At KS4 we run GCSEs in both subjects and offer a Graphics course in KS5. We would like Art and Photography to grow in KS5. The teacher we need must be hardworking, dedicated to ensuring students of all abilities can succeed and, crucially, a great classroom teacher. Previous experience of examination success at either KS4 or 5 is essential although there is no requirement to have taught post-16 previously.

Slough and Eton is a great school on the outskirts of Slough, which serves the Chalvey community. We are relentlessly focused on ensuring great teaching, learning and experiences are at the core of what we do. It is an exciting time for us and our students are a pleasure to work with.

Staff benefits include:

  • Complimentary breakfast.
  • Break and lunch time refreshments.
  • An onsite gym for staff use out of hours.
  • Free flu vaccinations.

About Slough and Eton CE Business and Enterprise College

Slough and Eton is a great school and I am immensely proud to have joined it as Headteacher in September 2017.  Pupils and students at Slough and Eton are expected to work extremely hard and are encouraged to achieve their very best in all that they do.  As a result of their tremendous work ethic they achieve extremely well and we are very proud of them.  We believe in educating the whole child and as such place great importance on the many cultural experiences we provide for pupils and students as well as the academic ones.

As a Church of England school we welcome pupils from all faiths, foster a culture of tolerance and understanding throughout the school and are always delighted to show visitors the fantastic things that happen here.  We have a thriving and growing Sixth Form and enjoy using excellent facilities.  If you are interested in finding out more about our school then please do come and visit us.  I would be delighted to show you around, along with some pupils and give you the opportunity to talk informally with some staff about what it is like to work at the school.

Mr Peter Collins
