An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified teacher of Art or Technology to join the Creative Technologies faculty as the college grows further.  The successful candidate will ideally be an art specialist with the experience, aptitude or interest to also teach Design and Technology at Key Stage 3, however applications from technology specialists will also be considered.  Relevant Health and Safety training will be provided where appropriate. 

At Shuttleworth College our students are at the centre of everything we do.  Our driving purpose is to make sure that they enjoy their time at school with us and achieve their very best.   Art and Technology are absolutely essential to this aim and as such we wish to appoint a qualified teacher who will inspire, motivate and engage our young people.

The successful candidate will be a specialist with obvious enthusiasm for both the subjects and students.   Applications from NQT’s would be most welcome, as the school provides a very supportive induction programme.  You will have a creative approach to teaching and learning and the ability to consistently deliver captivating and inspiring lessons; ensuring high quality learning experiences for all students.  In return you will receive excellent support from an experienced curriculum leader and you will be actively supported to develop your knowledge and your career. You will be a team player who works collaboratively with colleagues and have a willingness to engage in wider school projects and contribute to the extracurricular life and wider ethos of the school.

Shuttleworth College is a rapidly improving 11-16 College in Burnley located within easy reach of the M65 and is easily accessible from many parts of Lancashire and Manchester. The college is on a very exciting journey and the improvements in the college have recently been acknowledged by OFSTED grading both behaviour and leadership as good, and acknowledging the fantastic work going on here.

Shuttleworth College is a mixed, mainstream secondary school in Padiham, near Burnley in Lancashire. It caters to students aged 11 to 16 and has approximately 1,111 pupils enrolled. 

Shuttleworth College was founded in September 2006 from the merger of Gawthorpe High School and Habergham High Sixth Form. It was provided with a brand-new facilities under the Building Schools for the Future programme. The school now boasts a restaurant-style kitchen, dance studio, sports hall, fitness room, tennis courts and all-weather sports pitches.
