A school like no other, Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We’re currently looking for a Teacher of Art with a passion for the subject to join our thriving Art Department.
The Art Department at Wellington enjoys a high profile and has an exemplary record of examination successes. It also offers students a choice of disciplines: Fine Art, Art History, Textiles and Photography, as separate endorsements. Join us, and you could soon be playing a vital role in the classroom and in the pastoral welfare of our pupils.
You won't just be teaching a standard timetable allocation at GCSE, A and/or Baccalaureate Diploma level. You’ll play an active role in the extra-curricular life of the Department too. That means contributing to off-timetable workshops, enrichment extension programmes, life drawing, on-site exhibitions etc. And, when it comes to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, again, we'll rely on you to deliver. Setting and marking examinations, sharing good practice and playing your part in aspects of school life like sports, trips and stage productions – all are elements of a role that comes with every opportunity to make the most of your sharp and progressive vision of the subject.
To succeed, you’ll need a minimum of a good level degree in an Art related subject and a thorough knowledge of the 13-18 Art curriculum (GCSE and A /IB Level). Proven experience of delivering inspirational and informative lessons to the full age and ability range (Year 9-13) is essential too. What’s more, you should be committed to boarding school life and willing to participate in extra-curricular activities and monitor and enhance the academic and pastoral welfare of pupils.
Not only is this an excellent career development opportunity, it also comes with a generous salary and benefits package. So, if you are committed to boarding school life, have a genuine passion for the subject and are keen to continue to develop professionally, apply today.
