Job overview
We are looking for a qualified Teacher of Art who is passionate about education and has a flair for working with young people. We look for teachers who are resilient, highly driven and self motivated, who will go the extra mile to ensure that students achieve beyond their own expectations.
The ideal candidate would be a KS3 specialist and happy to work across both Art and DT disciplines.
Chobham Academy opened in September 2013 and is part of the highly successful federation of Harris academies. Our 3-18 academy is a world class educational legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Situated within the East Village complex, the academy serves the community newly established in 2,800 new homes, along with existing communities in Newham and Waltham Forest. In July 2015, Ofsted awarded Chobham Academy "Outstanding" across every category in its first inspection.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students.
- Support the subject area as appropriate and provide direction for Subject Lead and teachers.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
- Provide a motivating and structured learning experience, which will provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- Contribute significantly to raising standards of students' attainment as a teacher and form tutor.
