Varee Chiangmai International School is seeking a Teacher of Art for Key Stage 4 and A-Level starting January 2018. The school follows the UK based Cambridge International Examinations curriculum leading to IGCSE and A-Levels.

Varee Chiangmai International School is a small, growing school with approximately 275 students on roll. It is part of a larger Thai school based in the northern Thai city of Chiangmai and is a fully accredited member of EDT (Education Development Trust). The lifestyle achievable means that most of our teachers renew their initial contract.

The successful candidate should:

  • Hold a first degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education; or a Bachelor’s degree in Education.
  • Have experience in the UK or overseas in English National Curriculum schools
  • Have experience in teaching the Art and Design courses at GCSE/IGCSE and A Level.
  • Be confident in the use of technology, both in teaching and in administration.
  • Be able to engage, motivate and support children, staff and parents
  • Be a positive and enthusiastic member of the staffroom
  • Be willing to be fully involved in the extra-curricular life of the School

Varee Chiangmai International School is located in Chiang Mai, conveniently close to the airport, central shopping malls, and train and bus stations. Chiang Mai has a population of around 1.5 million with over 200,000 people living inside the city center.

At VCIS we teach a UK curriculum, the school is fully accredited by the UK-based Education Development Trust and Cambridge International Examinations. The school teaches from early years, though to the conclusion of A Level. We encourage the development of critical and analytical thinking skills through a variety of inclusive teaching methodologies, such as; differentiated instruction, co-operative learning, technology, Inquiry learning and research skills.

At Varee we believe that children learn best in a happy environment. We have created a place where students can learn happily both in and out of the classroom. The school teaches in the English language, but also maintains connections with the local Thai community.  Applicants applying for teaching positions must hold a teaching licence in their home country, have at least two years teaching experience and a familiarity with the English National Curriculum.
