Job overview

We encourage you to read our website very carefully and familiarise yourself with our 2014 Ofsted report, our prospectus, candidate information pack and application form for the post. What will be clear to you is that you are applying to an extremely successful school and one with a decidedly clear ethos of achievement. The school’s results place it in the top 10% of schools nationally. We moved, in November 2012, into a brand new £80 million school. The school became an Academy in September 2013 and was recognised by the Department for Education as a Teaching School in 2015. The school is committed to developing its teachers and to fostering the development of outstanding teaching. Its approach is one of personalised staff development and action planning delivered through coaching and modelling of good practice.

Art is a specialism of the school and each year 10% of the school’s intake is selected on the basis of aptitude in art. Successful students study the subject to at least GCSE, with a number progressing to A-level. Art is a beacon for the school. It mounts several exhibitions a year in its purpose built gallery and its examination performance is laudable.

Teachers provide outstanding Art teaching. There are generous resources and all Art teachers have their own large and stunningly equipped workshops which benefit from state of the art machinery and tools. The environment is dynamic and has its own library and design gallery. Students study GCSE Art in vertical teaching groups comprising of students in Years 9, 10 and 11. This is common practice across all GCSE option subjects and it is enormously successful.

We are seeking to appoint an art teacher with a specialism in textiles.

An application form and Candidate Information Pack is available from the school’s website: http://www.hollandparkschool.co.uk/school/train-and-teach-with-us

Early application is encouraged as we will seek to interview and appoint of receipt.

Closing Date: Tuesday 28th March 2017
