We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Art to join our highly committed and professional team from September 2018. This is a full-time temporary post to cover a sabbatical which is likely to be 12 months, working at our Senior Boy’s School.

We are looking for an outstanding practitioner with the vision to maximise the boys’ enjoyment of Art; encouraging them to explore their creativity through a variety of media. You must be committed to raising standards at all levels; delivering excellent lessons and enthusing pupils through your passion for teaching and for the subject.

To be successful in this role, you must be:-

· Suitably qualified with QTS in the appropriate age range and subject

· An excellent practitioner, experienced teaching Art from Key Stage 3 and 4

· Passionate in using your knowledge of current theory and practice in teaching and learning to provide highly effective curriculum delivery, in a stimulating and enjoyable way

· An enthusiastic team player, willing to participate fully in the School’s extra-curricular programme and wider school life

· Engaged with the School's ethos, thinking creatively and reflectively within an open, honest and hardworking team.

Above all you must want the very best for our pupils and be prepared to put their needs first. You recognise the importance of educating the whole child within a broad curricular and co-curricular programme, and of achieving high standards.

In return we offer a positive working environment, with supportive colleagues and regular opportunities for professional development and training.

Please note we are unable to accept applications from NQTs due to this role being fixed-term.

In these middle years we offer academic excellence enriched with culture and sport.

Here at Claires Court School everything is geared to developing bright, confident, caring young men who can achieve their full potential – academically, socially, on the playing fields and in the arts.  With just 300 boys aged between 11+ - 16 on the school roll, we are small enough to provide the caring, confidence building atmosphere young men need, and big enough to offer competition and strength of challenge.

Every boy knows he is an important member of our school community and has the opportunity to make a significant contribution to school life.  As part of the Claires Court School group of schools we also have the facilities and resources to offer an enormous range of academic and extra-curricular opportunities.

If this sounds like the type of school you would like to work with, then we would like to hear from you.
