Job overview

Required for September 2024

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Art teacher to further strengthen an already thriving Art and Design faculty. Applications are invited from ambitious, inspirational and talented classroom practitioners who are passionate about delivering exciting, innovative and engaging Art lessons that allow all students to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate may be required to teach some aspects of Design Technology at KS3 (Food Technology or D&T). There is no requirement for you to have done this before, as full training will be provided. If you require further information about this please do not hesitate to contact us.

Ormiston Meridian Academy is a thriving secondary academy in the south of the city, serving 11-16 year old students. Our ambition statement is ‘Shaping Lives, Building Ambition and Igniting Futures’ and every decision we make and action we take is to ensure our students excel as young adults. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. We all work together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood.

Our Art and Design faculty is highly successful with plenty of experience and expertise, making it an ideal faculty for an ECT to thrive. The team work collaboratively and support one another brilliantly. Leaders provide a clear and strategic approach to the curriculum, teaching and assessment approaches ensuring new members of the team have schemes of learning and lesson resources to hit the ground running. The team also demonstrate a commitment to extra-curricular clubs and activities and the successful candidate would be expected to support this.
