Teacher of Art

In response to increasing student numbers, the Ockendon Academy are currently looking for a Teacher of Art to start as soon as possible.  We support applications from both experienced teachers or newly qualified teachers seeking to widen their experience, to become an integral part in developing this department.

You will be enthusiastic and passionate about teaching all forms of Art, passing this enthusiasm onto your students and encouraging them to nurture and develop their skills in various forms.  

You will be joining a department who wholeheartedly embraces our motto to ‘Enjoy being the best you can be’.  You will play an important role in helping to develop the creative and energetic approach they have to learning and teaching, whilst seeking to understand the basic motives of each student, using this to maximise engagement and therefore enhance the whole learning process.

You will:

• Be educated to a first degree level or equivalent and hold QTS.
• Have experience of teaching the UK curriculum, ideally to Key Stage 5 and have the ability to plan and deliver lessons to ensure excellent learning progression takes place in all areas.
• Can assess and mark work, monitor student progression and raise attainment levels.
• Have evidence of supporting students effectively and possess a capacity to deliver engaging lessons, which inspire and motivate students to challenge their own learning.
• Have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
