Values and vision
In spite of major and rapid change across Scotland’s education system, Glen Urquhart High School believes the essentials of a good school remain unchanged. Children must be challenged, encouraged and praised, but they must learn that success is earned and that everyone has the seeds of a happy and contented life within themselves.
The school also believes that children, young people and their carers should be involved in decisions that affect them, should have their voices heard and should be encouraged to play an active and responsible role in their communities.
Inspection Report
“Teaching was good overall. Almost all teachers had high expectations of pupils and encouraged them through the use of well-judged praise. Teachers provided clear instructions and explained new work very well. Most deployed a range of teaching approaches, including using information and communications technology (ICT) to enrich lessons.”
