Teacher of Biology

Can you help our students to be at the leading edge of scientific learning? Our dynamic and expanding teaching team needs a Biology specialist to teach across Years 7-13, inspiring students of all ages with a love of the subject.  

Royal Russell is an HMC/IAPS co-educational school with over 1000 pupils between the ages of 3 and 18, situated on a beautiful green campus of 110 acres in the Shirley Hills near Croydon. We have over 150 boarding students in the Senior School, and are proud of our day and boarding facilities that rank amongst the best in the South of England.  Our pupils, parents and staff experience a warm and friendly environment with strong pastoral care for every pupil alongside a comprehensive co-curricular and enrichment programme. Science is one of the strengths of the school, with students being taught individual sciences from Year 9 onwards. At KS4 we follow the Edexcel IGCSE syllabus offering Triple award Biology and combined Science (double and single award). Biology is a popular A level choice, with an increasing number applying for science degrees (including medicine).  Each science has dedicated technician support in order to further extend learning opportunities.  

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and inspiring teacher with outstanding subject knowledge, who is able to teach to A* at A level in Biology. This role requires experience and dynamism, teamwork and dedication, and an enthusiasm for the subject.  

A willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular programme and support the pastoral life of our school is essential.  

The Royal Russell pay scale which is above SNS includes a generous allowance for suitably qualified and experienced staff. Allowances are available for specific pastoral and academic responsibilities.
