The school seeks to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and collaborative individual to join the biology department and deliver effective teaching and learning at all levels. The department is high-performing, and biology is one of our most popular subjects at both GCSE and A levels. The ability to teach A-level biology is a requirement of this post, and it would be an advantage to be able to teach combined sciences at Key Stage 3. The candidate must be a positive and dynamic individual who is able to engage, motivate and inspire students of all abilities.

St Swithun’s Senior School is an independent, Church of England, 11-18, day and boarding girls’ school, situated in Winchester in Hampshire. The school, which has approximately 520 girls on its roll, is a registered charity and is governed by the school council.
In 1884, seventeen pupils began attending Winchester High School. The pupil population then grew to over 60 and the school began to take day pupils and boarders. Its name was changed to Winchester Girls’ School in 1909 and then, after World War I, to St Swithun’s School.
